Dr. Andrew Shah

Andrew started his scientific journey at the University of Delaware, where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering in 2013. Andrew went on to earn his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Cornell in 2018 under the guidance of Prof. Yong Joo. Andrew’s thesis work focused on electrode and membrane development for chemical flow batteries. After Cornell, Andrew joined Dow Chemical in Midland, MI. At Dow, Andrew has had the opportunity to work on many interesting technical challenges, including material development for EV battery packs, post-consumer recycled blown film, material design for high voltage power cable insulation, and architectural coatings. Andrew is an inventor on 11 patent applications and has been a member of R&D 100 and Edison Gold Award winning teams during his time at Dow. He is currently based in Collegeville, PA. In his free time, Andrew likes to hike, travel, cook, and root for Philadelphia sports teams.
